This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in.

GOP wants YOUR Ideas PDF Print E-mail

Apparently the GOP has launched a new social-media project website at America Speaking Out .  You can watch the Introductory Video here.  There is an article about it at World Net Daily.

Personally I think we should tell them what we think, if they actually listen(which is currently in doubt) we should ensure that they get an earful.  It is important that we get them to understand a few fundamental truths:

  1. Start being fiscally responsible
  2. We are not going away
  3. They can not hide their true political beliefs, their votes will tell the tale and we are watching
  4. We The People will vote them out if they are not representing us
  5. We want our country back
  6. We want our jobs back
  7. We are not interested in big or bigger government, we want a small federal government
  8. We want responsive government, enforce the laws (protect the border anyone)
  9. Stop regulating companies out of business, especially small business

Let them know what you think.

Utah Republican Convention PDF Print E-mail

Yesterday the Utah Tea Party took over the Republican Party.  They trained their people to become delegates.  And they voted not to have Sen. Bob Bennett on the Republican Ballot in the Primary.  Who is Sen. Bennett:

  • 3-term Senator who vowed to retire after 2 terms
  • TARP proponent
  • Earmark crazy

Glen Reynolds of Instapundit.com received the following emails from a member of the Utah Tea Party:

Reader Jim Verdolini writes: “His base told him pretty clearly they would not stand for TARP, spending, and ‘compromise’ Health Care Schemes. Bennett, like most of or ‘leadership’ ignored them. Now he is retired. Eventually republican ‘leadership’ will understand that they work for us. Till then they will become ever more extinct.”

MORE: Utah Tea Partier David Kirkham emails: “After convention we walked up on the podium and took this picture. We took over the Utah GOP. All of our candidates were elected today without having to go to a primary (or booted in the case of Bennett). Obama has awakened a sleeping giant.”

Tax Day Tea Party - Latest News
by - Terrence Lee
04/15/2010

LEWES, Del. - Horns were blaring on Route 1 in Lewes Thursday. Each honk, a sign of agreement with the sea of signs held by Tea Party supporters. Protesters came out in the masses, there are more than 200 people in the crowd. They all turned out to party like it was 1776 and send Democrats packing in 2010.

Republican Barbara Martell said, "I would like Pelosi out, and I would like Reid out. Once those two are gone I won't feel so bad . . . We're disgusted with what's going on in Washington and we're afraid.

Martell said she fears the direction the country is going in and several others agreed. Protests took place across the country to let the government know people are not happy with the amount of money they are paying in taxes. Event Organizer Donna Gordon said, "You go and get gas, you get taxed, your house, you got property tax, city, town, state, county, sewer and water tax, everything you do is taxed."

Not only are they unhappy with the amount of money Uncle Sam is taking, the Sussex County Tea Party members do not like how the money is being spent. Recent polls show that up to a third of Americans feel the same way.

Christopher Oliver said, "I think it's time for people to stand up for what they believe it and not be cowards anymore."

There was also a Tea Party rally outside the Government Building in Salisbury. The National Tea Party Federation estimates between 1,700 and 2,000 protests took place on Thursday.
